You know what’s better than finding out there’s a new camera in town? Finding out there are two. And Sony’s brace of new H Series snappers have ridden down Main Street, checked into the Gadgetsville Saloon and ordered up some impressive specs.
The HX100V (above) has a flare-resistant 30x zoom lens, as well as 1080p video at 50fps. The HX9V has a less ostentatious 16x zoom on its wide-angle G Lens, but touts similar HD video skills. And those long distance shots ought to have minimum shake – both cams have nicked the image stabilisation tech from Sony’s Handycam series.
Other shared specs include the 16.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, a bundle of 3D shooting options including panoramas stills and multi-angle shots and GPS and compass tricks for geotagging. They’ll be hitting the shelves in April 2011 for a price that remains – for now – a mystery.
