Sony hones, tweaks, creates DSC-T5

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Sony started a camera legend with the DSC-T1. Episode 5 is the DSC-T5, a refined 5MP shooter that begs the question - is it as good as the original?

This here is the Sony DSC-T5, Sony's latest and greatest superslim compact.

While Fuji and Olympus charge upwards with 8 and 9MP compacts, Sony's keeping the T5 on the standard trio of 5 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and 2.5in LCD.

The cool stuff is that it has a widescreen photo mode, 32MB internal memory, a flash that shoots a metre further than the old DSC-T33 and a battery life that's a third better than the T33.

Sony's also going to sell a very nifty £70 underwater casing - the 'Sports Pack' - similar to the one currently on sale for the DSC-T7.

You can bagsy yourself a T5 in September for £280.
