Sky drops price of HD box

Fancy a helping of HD, but don’t want Freesat’s limited offering? Well, Sky’s just slashed the price of its HD box and renamed it Sk

For £150, new and existing customers can upgrade to the hi–def box. That's £99 cheaper than before. To get the deal you’ll need to lay out £10 a month on the new HD Mix package, on top of your standard deal. Set up will cost £60 for current customers and £30 for newbies.

If you want the standard Sky+ box, you can lay out the same £150, or £75 if you take up Sky’s broadband, talk or multiroom services.

This goes hand–in–hand with Sky’s new EPG, which we caught a glimpse of last month. As well as a redesigned system, you’ll be able to take a squizz at 18 HD channels, with 7,000 hours of output every month. That includes Premier League, Ryder Cup and England V South Africa in the cricket. Plus some National Geographic gubbins if you get bored of all that sport.
