Good news today for anyone racking up massive phone bills arranging online games with mates.
The Xbox Live friends list, that ever-so-useful tab on Microsoft's instant messenger, is back after a 14 month coalescence.
Just sign into Windows Live Messenger, click the Xbox button and you'll see a list of your gaming buddies, complete with the game they're playing. All you need to do is load the same disc and boot your 360 to join 'em.
If you're based in the UK, you'll have to change your profile settings in Messenger to the USA - if set to the UK, the Xbox tab doesn't flash up.
Social gallavanters that we are, Stuff's particularly looking forward to the release of Windows Live Mobile, which should - fingers crossed - bring the Xbox friends list to your phone. Trust us: IM messages from mates playing Table Tennis at home are going to be the new way to excuse yourself from meetings.
