TomTom reveals new Pro series
Having released the slick and slim, but ultimately underwhelming update, the One XL, earlier this year, TomTom is back for more with two new mappers. Dubbed the Pro series, each model is aimed at high-powered business types who spend hours on the road getting lost and shouting into hands-free kits. Both the 4,000 and 8,000, as they're known, come with a plentiful 4.3in screen, a ruggedised sleeve in case you sling it into the glove compartment with too much force, a two year warranty and best of all, a dedicated phone line for pro customers only.So what's the difference between the pair we hear you cry? Well, not an awful lot on the outside. Under the hood though, the 8,000 crams in a hell of a lot more, including TomTom's IQ routes, Advanced Lane Guidance, Voice Address Input and Bluetooth. There's no word on UK pricing yet, but expect them to come in somewhat higher than the One and Go ranges. There'll be more news on these newbies coming out of the IFA gadget show next week in Berlin. Stay tuned to Stuff.tv, because we'll be coming live from Germany, bringing you all the news as it happens.
