Samsung has just let loose the latest version of its clever twin-screen 2View compact cam – the 2View DV300F. As ever, 2View refers to its dual-LCD screen set-up, which sees it sport a front-facing 1.5in screen for those narcissistic self-portraits – or holding a child's attention with kiddy-friendly animations – coupled with a 3in screen round the back.
This time round, Samsung's clever cam is Wi-Fi equipped to get your snaps and mini movies straight onto Facebook, Picassa, Photobucket and YouTube, to your PC's hard drive, or directly to an email address.
Specs-wise, the 2View is a 16MP snapper with 5x optical zoom, a 25mm wide-angle lens and up to 720p video capture at 30fps. Optical image stabilization and ISO of up to 3200 are also onboard.
There's plenty of fun photo tweaking fun to be had too. The 2View's Magic Frame function lets you pick from one of 12 background templates, as well as giving you the ability to create poster-quality art. There's also a Picture-in-Picture function, enabling you to insert one image with another, Split Shot mode for mashing up to three different images together and an Artistic Brush feature as well. Lastly – and what sounds like the most fun – is the Funny Face feature for slapping goofy grins, comical noses and crazy eyes on your subjects.
Using Samsung’s free Remote Viewfinder app for Android and iOS, you'll also be able to remotely frame shots, take photos, geotag and view video stored on the 2View.
Samsung is remaining tight lipped on UK pricing details, but word across the pond indicates the dual-screened cam could come in around the £150 price mark. What we can tell you, though, is that the 2View will be available in a rage of "metalliccolours" – which we are guessing means very, very shiny.
