Apple MacBook Air
If you’re waiting for the inevitable release of a Retina display-equipped MacBook Air, you might just be twiddling your thumbs until next year.
Two reports from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News claim that a 12in Retina display MacBook Air was due to be launched alongside refreshed editions of the current 11in and 13in models in October – but that supply problems mean it will now be pushed back until the end of 2014 or the early part of 2015.
Lighter than (the current) Air
Apple has already updated its 11in and 13in models in April this year (albeit with little more than a minor increase in processing speed and a drop in price), but a more significant refresh seems set for the autumn. The idea, apparently, was to announce the brand new 12in Retina display model alongside improved non-Retina models – but Apple may now save this big reveal until next year.
The Retina MacBook Air is rumoured to be even slimmer than the current models, with fan-less cooling, a non-clicking trackpad and fewer in- and outputs
