Rumour Mill – iOS 5 to get over the air updates

Would Sir care for yet another WWDC rumour? Go on, it’s wafer thin

Apple’s WWDC event kicks off later today, but that doesn’t mean that the relentless rumours have any intention of ceasing. The latest detective work from MacRumors suggests iOS 5 will update itself over the air, thanks to a premature bit of wording in the App updates screen (which has now been pulled). If true, it would be a most welcome change from the current set-up which requires a tedious tethered sync to iTunes on a computer. It’s also not too far fetched to dream of a world in which wireless library syncing via Wi-Fi is an option. OTA iOS updates are scoring high on our believability chart at the moment, but we'll know for sure later today. Watch this space.
