Rockstar sets March 2012 for Max Payne 3 release

The dark gritty shooter is back – this time wielding some fragtastic multiplayer action

Painful memories of Max Payne’s 2008 film adaptation can finally begin to heal as confirmation of a March 2012 release date for the third iteration in the popular shooter series comes through – no doubt a relief for fans who have had to put up with the title being delayed each year since 2009.

The game itself focuses around a more serious and cynical Max who has traversed his way to Sao Paulo where some dubious double-crossing paves the way for a bloody search for the truth. The series will also feature a multiplayer experience for the first time, allowing gamers access to loadouts and clans – hopefully sans the screaming hordes of pre-teens who plague all COD matches.
