Qualcomm has announced that its Toq smartwatch will be on sale from 2nd December, priced at US$350 (£220).
The wristwatch will be sold directly from Qualcomm’s website, and if you go there now you can enter your email address for automatic updates on availability.
The Toq differs quite drastically from the Samsung Galaxy Gear, featuring a proprietary operating system and low power Mirasol screen technology. It’s been designed with a sharp focus on serving up smartphone notifications on your wrist.
Watch out now
Will it trounce the Galaxy Gear? That remains to be seen, but our very own Lucy Hedges got the chance to formulate some early opinions by getting her hands on a Toq back in September. Watch the video here.
We’ve contacted Qualcomm to see if a UK release date and price has been confirmed.
