We were seriously eager to get our hands on the PS3 Slim and…we have! With its slight looks and matt finish, the PS3 Slim is much as we expected – a sober restyling of the PS3 rather than a great leap in design.
For a true unboxing, we compared the packaging the PS3 Slim arrives in with the Xbox 360's box. Despite it's slimmed down size and weight, the PS3 Slim still manages to arrive in packaging that dwarfs the Xbox 360's compact carrier. A slight eco fail for Sony.
While we were making comparisons, we couldn't resist putting the PS3 Slim in a head-to-head with its chunkier older brother. It's clearly far slighter than the original PS3 but there are a few more differences.
Besides the matt finish, there's a news PS3 logo which mimics the PSP and PS2 designs, the card reader is still absent and the whole console feels far less sturdy.
What do you think? Is the PS3 Slim's £250 price and remixed looks tempting?
