Reely novel iPod power extender
We're putting this in the 'highly suspect' drawer, but convincing Apple Store screenshots have appeared online showing a new iPod and iPhone accessory built like a traditional power extender.
The shape's rather cunning because it really is a power extender, of the non-traditional USB sort, mind. Perfect for piping precious leccy to your iPod while you sun yourself in the garden, you'd think, so why the suspicion?
Well, in addition to there being no sign of it on Apple's website anymore, casting our eye down the captured page and past the blurb about charging and syncing your iPhone or iPod wherever you are, we find the claim that, "two miles of cable are wound around its convenient rotating reel."
Two miles? Just how long are these Apple execs' gardens?

Can i just say, USB cable extenders are only good for around 5 meters.
after that they begin to loose quality, at 2 miles (3,200 odd meters) i can't imagin it would even work.
pretty funny idea though.

Apple always release something that's ok but still a bit rubbish, then bring out a better one in a matter of months. So I reckon we'd be looking at a 5-mile version by the end of the year ;)
