News Nugget – Altec Lansing Octiv 450 iPad dock launches
To date there have been only a handful of iPad docks, and even fewer that accommodate landscape docking. But if ever there was a sign that the floodgates are about to open, it is Altec Lansing debuting their first – the swivel-hinged Octiv 450.The Octiv 450 is the first in what Altec promises us will be a slew of tablet-based dockery. It’s a fairly basic 2.0 system with a pair of 2in drivers that’ll make do with your tunes and TV noise in the kitchen, but would struggle to get the party started.Still, if you’re after a Christmas gift for the iPad owner who has everything, and you can’t afford to drop £900 on B&O’s BeoSound 8, Altec’s asking price of £130 for the Octiv 450 should see you scurrying off to your large electronics shop of your choice to pick one up this weekend. If you’re holding out for quality, expect news of an expansive range of 2011-bound iPad docks to come out of CES in January.More from Stuff.tv- Rumour Mill – Xbox 360 app explosion coming- Gadget Flashback – Xbox 360- iOS 4.2 hits iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch- 15 CGI movie milestones- News Nugget – Bolle's iPhone printer- Through the ages – Windows- News Nugget – LaCie's skinny USB SSD FastKey- First Look – Dell Inspiron Duo- News Nugget – Olive unwraps 2TB O6HD- News Nugget – Galaxy Tab price drop- Beatles catalogue, meet iTunes- Rumour Mill – LG Optimus Star- Unboxed – Palm Pre 2
