Gadget of the Day – Speedo Aquabeat

If you like to listen to music while you excercise, you probably find having to swim without music a bit tedious. Splish, splash, splish, splash...

There are an increasing number of waterproof MP3 players out there like the NU Dolphin and uBanana uCan, and on first inspection the Speedo Aquabeat looks like a particularly fine example.

It has 1GB of storage – plenty for a lengthy pool session – and will play for up to 9 hours. Whether you'll manage to swim for that long is another matter.

It's waterproof down to three metres, so will do the business for all your watersports needs except, perhaps, diving. And it floats so there's no chance of it ending up in Davy Jones' locker.

Best of all, it comes in green, black and pink so you can choose one to match the colour of your favourite pair of budgie-smugglers.
