Creative Zen X-Fi gets price tag
For those of you allergic to Apples, Creative's Wi-Fi-packing X-Fi media player has looked like a viable alternative to the iPod Touch ever since it first leaked earlier in the summer. Well now it's staking a huge claim for a place in your pocket with one of the most wallet-friendly prices we've ever seen on a top-spec PMP at just £200 for the 32GB daddy of the bunch.
The web-ready player trumps the Touch with its ability to stream and download tunes, video and pics over your Wi-Fi network, plus at £130 cheaper than Apple's flagship iPod it's a good deal kinder on your gadget kitty.
Underneath the X-Fi's 2.5in screen Creative has squashed in an FM radio and X-Fi Crystalizer tech that goes to work on your compressed MP3s and upscales them back to something approaching their former glory. Add to that an SD card slot and a built-in speaker that'll let ASBO kids force their horrendous taste in r 'n' b riddimz on us at the back of the N155 from Trafalgar Square and you've got a PMP that's about ready to burst.
