5 things you need to know about the new iPod Shuffle
It talks! In many languages
Yes, Apple’s littlest iPod doesn’t come with a display, so when you want to know exactly what you’re listening to you simply hit the VoiceOver button and, hey presto, the Shuffle will whisper artist and song name details right into your ear.
It’ll also tell you about remaining battery life. And not just in English, either – it’s fluent in 14 languages, including Mandarin Chinese and Polish.
It’s smaller than ever
Apple has shaved loads off the Shuffle by including all the controls on the headphone cord, so it’s now just over half the size of the previous gen model – 17.5 x 45.2 x 7.8mm, to be precise. And it weighs just 10.7g
It’s bigger than ever
It might be physically tiny, but it comes with the most storage space Apple has ever stuffed into a Shuffle. There’s 4GB in total, enabling you to cram on around 1,000 tracks at 128kbps quality.
It supports multiple playlists
Yeah, so most MP3 players already support multiple playlists, but this is the first time the Shuffle has stuffed this in. It’s all possible because of VoiceOver, which’ll read out playlist names so you can choose which one you want.
The clip is better
Remember the spring clip on the last Shuffle, that let you fix it to your jerkin/tabard/hose when going for a run? Well it was made out of plastic, which is a bit rubbish. The new Shuffle has a clip forged from the finest stainless steel, which is strong and looks way nicer.

its nice and would be great to get except who wants to use apple earphones. maybe if an adapter cable comes out then it will be alright then, that will cost extra though. maybe apple will realise their mistakes and chuck in an adapter cable in the box.

it uses a 45 mm drive, meaning you have to use apple's buds or get a future adaptor
