Will Apple’s iTunes streaming service mirror your library?
The thoughtful tinkerers from Cupertino may save you the tedious hassle of uploading your entire music collection to the cloud if Businessweek’s description of iTunes' new service is anything to go by. Apparently, it'll involve Apple scanning your music collection before mirroring your tracks on their own servers, ready to be blasted through the interwebs and into your lug holes at a moment’s notice. As an added bonus, any low-quality tracks are likely to be replaced with instant streaming high-bitrate versions. It’s unlikely that any of this will be free and expect these features to be included as part of Apple’s MobileMe subscription service. All eyes are now firmly fixed on the WWDC event on June 6 where all will (magically) be revealed.
