Microsoft guns for Nexus 7 with US$200 Surface Windows RT

The Microsoft Surface Windows RT tablet won't just be slimmer and lighter than the iPad – it'll also be cheaper, with a reported price of US$200 (£130).
If true, that price – revealed by Engadget's inside source – places the Surface Windows RT in direct competition with the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire, and with better specs to boot. That means a 10.6in screen at 1366x768 resolution, and a Tegra 3 quad-core chip – plus of course that brilliant case-cum-keyboard and the powerful Windows 8 RT OS, too. It's expected to be in our hands on October 26th.

Whilst £130 may be the direct exchange rate comparison, it doesn't include tax, therefore the £159 (like the Nexus 7) is much more realistic.

I find it hard to believe that you are reporting rumour as if it were fact.
Far more likely is a price somewhere between $499->$699 (and imo that would be cheap)

Websites Ive read this morning suggest this is an incorect quote and its more likely to be $299 which includes a trial version of Office 2013 so you can add a license fee for that too on the price.

Unless you can install Linux on it the price is immaterial...

biggest mistake is no 3G - if they want to compete then these devices must be truely mobile.

I can't beliive a review that doesn't suggest that the ipad will still be better ;-)
