Apple iOS to update over-the-air

05 May 2011

Yesterday we reported that Spotify is aiming to kill iTunes. Today Apple is suggesting over-the-air updates for its iOS devices that don’t require iTunes. Giving up the good fight a bit quick aren’t we, Steve? Of course he probably has some genius Apple Cloud-based software he's preparing to unleash on the world.

For now the over-the-air updates are only planned on Verizon in America for Autumn. But since it’s all rumour at this stage anyway, there’s no reason we won’t get the giant-sized iOS updates wirelessly too. Let’s hope speedy 4G starts to appear soon, as O2 led us to believe it would.
