PlayStation Home delayed until autumn

PlayStation Home has been delayed yet again gadget lovers. Now Sony’s saying we won’t be seeing a fully live version until at least the au

Instead, the Japanese giant is beefing up its Closed Beta testing so hungry gamers can get involved and tell them exactly what they think before it all becomes official.

Sony’s top dog, Kazuo Hirai said, “We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today.”

Fair shout, but similar to the comments made last autumn when the whole shebang was pushed back to spring of this year, having been officially unveiled way back in July.

They’ve said in the past that they want PlayStation Home to be a “worldwide service”, so it makes sense to hold things back. But with these repeated cancellations and excuses, aren’t we really looking at an early 2009 release?

Who knows? But if it does materialise around September, perhaps it will coincide with the new Slim PS3 that’s been touted? What do you think? Be sure to let us know in the comments section.
