T-Mobile Pulse is first PAYG Android phone

03 Sep 2009

The Pulse – Android's first PAYG gang memberAndroid has been spreading its wings this year with the HTC Hero and incoming Samsung i7500. And now it’s got its first PAYG handse courtesy of T-Mobile – the Pulse.

Due out in October for a tempting £180, it sports a more curvy design than the T-Mobile G1, but much the same specs. Like the first Android phone, it has a 3.2in HVGA display, 3.2MP camera with autofocus (but no flash) and a microSD slot.

There’s an extra helping of internal storage with 2GB onboard, and connectivity is decent with HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS. In typical Android style, you also get six homescreens to fill with your choice of widgets.

But how do you make use of all this goodness without a monthly data plan? Well, T-Mobile will be offering internet access for £5 a month, or £1 a day. Look out for a hands-on look very soon.

Looks good, let's hope it is proper android and not been tampered with. Does anyone know who makes it? Needs a good battery as previous android phones have lasted about a day and thats it.
