Stuff EXCLUSIVE – all new 3 Skypephone S2 official

The original was one of the gadgets of 2007, and now 3 has just given us official word that they’re releasing a new 3 Skypephone.

Dubbed the 3 Skypephone S2, it supports HSDPA, contrary to erroneous reports which surfaced on the web earlier today. As with the original, you’ll find integrated Skype, accessible from the central button on the blower. Contacts are integrated into your phonebook and you can easily tell who’s online for a spot of VoIP action.

Elsewhere you’ll find a beefed up 2.2in QVGA screen, a newly minted 3.2MP camera and built–in modem drivers so you can use it as a dongle for your PC or Mac.

Release date and price is due to arrive on 21 July, so we’ll bring you all the news then.
