Sony Ericsson C901 GreenHeart

Initially showcased as a concept in September last year, it seems that Sony Ericsson's pledge to make planet-loving phones has finally become reality.

The Sony Ericsson GreenHeart range was officially unveiled today, with both the Naite and the C901 getting an eco makeover – both are manufactured using 80% recyclable plastics, come in environmentally friendly smaller packaging with a low-consumption charger and even have an online user manual to save on paper.

The Cyber-shot C901 features all the features of the original model announced at Mobile World Congress – 5MP camera with a Xenon flash, 3G, but this model also sports the green credentials listed above, which is hoped to help lower the overall CO2 footprint of the range by 15%.

Expect to see the GreenHeart seal of approval popping up very soon – we're told Q2 – which is essentially now – although no word as yet on a network.
