Orange LG GD910 watchphone coming for £500 from August 27

20 Aug 2009

Orange will start selling the LG GD910 watchphone from its London Bond Street shop from next Thursday, August 27 for £500. That's less than we thought it would be sold for but the LD GD910 is only available at that knockdown price for a limited time. To get the LG GD910 for £500, you'll need to rock up to the Bond Street store in person. And don't think you'll be able to nab a fistful of future phone. It's one watchphone per geek. The 3G+ LG GD910 has a touch screen interface for writing texts, a built-in speaker and a MP3/AAC player. Phone and video calls are voice activated. Are you going to be rushing down to the Orange store to grab the LG GD910? And are watchphones geek or chic? Work out what you think while you take a look at our hands-on with the LG GD910 over on the Cool Stuff blog.

Why would I buy that when I can buy the Swap watch/phone for £250? It also comes unlocked to begin with!! I think Orange are expecting too much and I doubt it will be any good to text or do anything other than calling from such a small unit. Unless the battery life is really good and there's no health issues with these watch phones, I don't see them replacing the newer smart phones as their functions are too limited.
