Nokia plotting DRM–free Comes With Music for 11 March?
Nokia's Comes With Music service was rumoured to be in line for a DRM–free makeover. But if plans for an event are anything to go by, we could be seeing the death of copy protection on the all you can eat service as soon as this week.See, Nokia is planning a big announcement on 11 March. That's Wednesday this week. The invite is clearly themed around the download store, with a truly atrocious slogan – 'Your Music Player is Ringing.'Rubbish lines like that aside, this fits in with plans we revealed last week for Nokia to make their service truly enticing to proper music fans as well as those keen on a slab of DRM with their stodgy indie tunes.Stay tuned for news as it happens. And remember you can see Comes With Music in action in our hands–on video.Essentials Nokia Comes With Music Price: £130 On sale: Now Contact: Nokia

With iTunes all but DRM-free now, they have little choice but to dispense with it asap. Nokia also have a lot to learn about slogans as well, lol. Even the 'Comes With Music' one is a bit crap. Maybe it gets lost in the Finnish-English translation.

I've always been wary of CWM. I like the idea, but any company that still thinks DRM is a viable way to treat music is living in the past. Make this DRM free and I'll sign up right away. Joe
