Next-gen iPhone being tested?
Apple has begun field testing the next iPhone, if rumours are to be believed, after an iPhone 3,1 turned up in the usage logs of a new app.
According to Mac Rumours, the iPhone 3,1 turned up in the analytics of the iBART application, which doesn’t correspond to any of iPhones released so far.
In fact the last one spotted was iPhone 2,1 which turned out to be the 3G S.
Of course it's almost a dead cert that we can expect an iPhone update next year of some sort, so although it's not huge news, the fact that testing has begun certainly means we can expect the rumour mill to start churning out speculative features of the new phone pretty soon.
In fact, we've already heard whisperings of RFID support, and we're now looking forward to the outrageous, over-the-top rumours to start trickling though. An iPhone that can do your exercise for you? Or a built-in camera that connects straight to Santa perhaps?
We'd settle for Flash support and a flash for the camera, to be honest. Let us know what you'd like from the next iPhone below.

n95 esque quality camera and a pre like ability to carry on surfing web etc whilst being notified of text / calls and i'm on board.

i think they should include an oled screen to help with battery issues and also improve the battery, the ability to change themes which would open up the opportunity for app creaters to make themes and change the shape of icons etc. also different keyboard options, standard alfanumeric keypad. better wifi cheaper

high resolution oled screen, rfid, multitasking apps and offline file storage are on my wish list!! plus books in itunes.

My biggest want isn't hardware. I only want an iPhone for the fact that it's also a great music player. Would be really nice to see the phone companies offer less web and more calls and texts as not everyone - i.e. me - is that bothered about having a portable web browser.

i have a htc hero so to drag me away from it any new iphone would have to have a vastly improved camera, hd video, at least 1ghz processor, removeable battery and sd card(or other storage). and full web flash is a must! the chances of getting any of that are close to zero with apple so htc will probably still get my vote and my custom.

On the next iPhone, I hope there will be a front facing camera for use with iChat over 3G and wi fi. In the next update, I hope we get the long awaited flash support and dedicated iPlayer app.
