Motorola priming Android social networking smartphone
Google Android is only going to be doing its whole open source thing on the T–Mobile G1 for at least the next six months. But with the phone not even hitting your local mobile emporium until November, it's time to get excited by the next wave of killer gPhones.
See, according to AndroidGuys, Motorola has just advertised for a new Senior Staff Interaction Designer. That may sound like someone rocking a naff suit and touting spreadsheets, but it's actually going to be the person behind an "Android Social Networking Smartphone."
We already knew Moto was getting set to bring the Google love to their flagging line of mobiles, but this sounds pretty promising. A cell with a decent bit of grunt and the chance to blather in all kinds of ways to your buddies sounds mighty fine to us.
Sadly, there's not a spec sheet in sight, but you can bet they'll want to slap down the G1 and bring in the same GPS, Wi–Fi, 3G and maybe even an 8MP snapper to make things even tastier.
While you wait for Moto to get all official, make sure you get your Android fix in out T–Mobile hands–on video and everything you need to know feature.
