iPhone 3G limited to one per person

Having slashed the price and plumped for a subsidised model, O2 has confirmed that when the iPhone 3G launches next week, they’ll be restricted to one per customer.

The news, first unearthed by the chaps at Electric Pig, came in text to current iPhone owners. O2 said they “expect demand for the iPhone 3G to be very high, so orders will be processed on a first come, first served basis so that we can be fair to all our customers. Orders will be limited to one iPhone 3G per customer.”

Why you’d want to grab more than one when you have to chain yourself to an 18 month contract remains a mystery, but at least it’s been cleared up.

PAYG plans are yet to be officially unveiled, although last week’s leaks, showing the 8GB model at £299 and the 16GB at £359 have gained further credence, with AT&T unveiling $600 and $700 price points for the respective models.
