HTC Android phone takes aim at Palm Pre

Motorola's failure to bring their Android phones to the party at CES was a huge disappointment. But now word is out that HTC is lining up its own Android phone, which according to one insider makes the new Palm Pre look average by comparison.Aussie site Smarthouse has dug up word from an exec from mobile types Telstra, who says having had a play with the Pre over in Vegas, HTC's new Android phone is "better and more functional."The touchscreen and QWERTY–packing Pre stole the show at CES this year, with plenty of rabid gadget fans talking up the potential of its Web OS to give Apple a going over in 2009.HTC's Android phone will most likely get its first airing at Mobile World Congress over in Barcelona for next month.
