BlackBerry KickStart to be unveiled this week

09 Sep 2008

Talk of the clamshell BlackBerry KickStart has been swallowed up by incessant chatter about the touchscreen Thunder. But finally, the new take on the ultimate email addiction gadget is set for its official unveiling this week.According to BlackBerryCool, the 8220, to give it it’s rather dull full name, will be shown off at the CTIA trade show over in San Francisco tomorrow.Apparently it’ll come packing Wi–Fi, a QWERTY board, Bluetooth 2.0, AAC support and a rather rubbish 2MP camera. Mind you, taking pics won’t be top priority if you’re a middle manager firing off emails faster than Usain Bolt running the 100 metres.RIM’s keeping a UK release date close to its chest, but expect to see it rocking phone stores on a high street near you soon. As for the Javelin and the Thunder, it looks like we’ll have to wait until next year to see their full debut.Essentials BlackBerry Kickstart Price: From £TBA On sale: TBA Contact: RIM
