5 things you need to know about the Toshiba TG01

It's a touchscreen monster
We thought the HTC Touch HD's 3.8in screen was as big as these things could get. But Toshiba has managed to get a 4,1in WVGA monster onto the new TG01, using the tech found in their killer Regza TVs. Take that Apple.

It makes the iPhone look fat
At just 9.9mm wide, the TG01 is thinner than all the hottest smartphones currently up for grabs. The T–Mobile G1 and iPhone both have plenty going on, but even Apple's 12.3mm effort looks fat when you put them side by side.

It's the Usain Bolt of mobiles
Processors don't normally get us het up here at Stuff Towers, but the 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon inside the TG01 should leave its super–specced rivals for dead. They say it will 'revolutionise mobile entertainment'. We say it means you'll get your emails even quicker.

It's WinMo all the way
Windows Mobile's very much present and correct in the TG01, covered with a neat 3D interface to stop you getting confused by the idiosyncratic OS. Tosh is part of Google's Open Handset Alliance though, so how long until we see an awesome Android version?

It's not coming til summer
Yep, you read that right. Tosh is being nice and vague about exactly when we can expect it, but you can bet they'll have it in the palms of those in the know way before Apple releases its 3rd gen iPhone.
