3 readies bargain Skypephone S2

Earlier this month we brought you the exclusive news of the new Skypephone, the S2. Now we can reveal the price.

A penny shy of £70 (that's £69.99 maths fans) is all 3 will be asking for its latest free-calling wonder when it goes on sale next month. That makes it a crisp twenty more than the original but, as they say, pay more, get more.

Like its predecessor it has a Skype client built-in for seeing who's online and making Skype calls but now the camera's been bumped from a pitiful 2MP to a more respectable 3.2MP. The screen's had a revamp to grow to a crisp 2.2in QVGA display.

Completing the transformation is its new found ability as a HSDPA modem. A £10 top up will give it a whole month of laptop twinning ability with a 1GB downloading allowance - more than enough for our email, YouTube and Facebook needs.

Speaking of which, 3's also chucked in a Facebook app directly on the phone and an RSS reader for getting the latest from Stuff.tv. We like this phone more and more.
