Samsung Galaxy S4 could be delayed due to processor issues
The Samsung Galaxy S4's rumoured March 14th launch date could be skating on thin ice according to Piper Jaffray analyst Gus Richard.
The culprit is rumoured to be Samsung's own Exynos 5 Octa processor which is reportedly having power issues. Richard believes that Samsung has instead approached Qualcomm to supply the processors for the S4 instead.
We've already seen Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 600 processor in the HTC One which runs even faster than the still-formidable Snapdrgon S4 Pro processor beating away in the Xperia Z.
Being the cheerful bunch of optimists that we are, we're keeping our fingers crossed that the S4 will nab Qualcomms beastly Snapdragon 800 chips instead. Not only will it be smaller and more power efficient, it'll have an even bigger boost in the power and graphics department than the Snapdragon 600. Did we mention it can also hit 3.2Ghz, support 2560x2058 resolutions, 4K video recording and charge your phone up to 75 per cent faster? Phew.
But enough numbers for now. We're sure we all want to see the Samsung Galaxy S4 hit shelves on time, so whatever is really going on at Samsung HQ, we hope it gets sorted stat.
