Alleged Samsung Galaxy S II Plus specs emerge

Samsung's Galaxy S3 may be the new kid in town, but its predecessor isn't going to go gentle into that good night.
In fact, according to Chilean operator VTR, the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus is on the way – and it's more than just a simple overhaul.
Reports suggest that the 4.3in display will be replaced with a 4.5in Super AMOLED version to give you more display real estate, and the Samsung-built Exynos processor is being overclocked to 1.5GHz – an increase of 300MHz.
Apart from the addition of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, it looks like the S II Plus comes packing the same great 8MP camera, 1GB of RAM and a fairly roomy 16GB of storage as its smaller predecessor. All of this comes wrapped in a case that looks a little more squared off and not as thin.
We loved the S II's slim proportions and epic performance – so the jury's out on whether the S II Plus can step up to the mark, especially with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and S3 prices dropping nicely. And it's got some quite large shoes to fill.
