World's thinnest smartphone bezel is just 1mm thick

If the Motorola RAZR i's bezel is just too chunky for your liking, AU Optronics has your back. The Taiwanese TFT-LCD manufacturer has created a 4.46in smartphone display that delivers 720p resolution – and all that with a surround that's a mere 1mm thick.
AUO's achieved the super-slim bezel using its "proprietory super narrow border technology" – which doesn't explain much – and low temperature poly-silicon method.
With a bezel that slim, smartphone manufacturers will need to work on incorporating iPad Mini-style Thumb Rejection tech into their phones. Still, if it means bigger displays on smaller phones, we're all for it.
