Official: white iPhone coming “this spring”

When journalists in pursuit of breaking news contact Apple about their release schedules, they’re usually brushed off and told to wait for an official announcement. But it seems the better tactic is to tweet @pschiller (Phil Schiller, Apple’s product marketing chief) and ask, “How do I get a white iPhone?”

That’s what Eric Anderson did, and got the reply: “Hi Eric. The white iPhone will be available this spring (and it is a beauty!).”

We’re assuming that’s a white iPhone 4 for now. But until Schiller responds to our tweet on the matter, we won’t know for sure.
