Clumsy? Don’t buy a Samsung Galaxy S3 over an iPhone 4S, says test

samsung galaxy s3 drop test

There are some things we didn’t test in our full review of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Among them were dropping the phone on the floor, giving it to an overexcited child or leaving it on the roof of a car.

Luckily for us, SquareTrade (which sells warranties for people who drop their phones) has done the hard work for us, pitting the S3 against the phone it ousted from the Smartphone Top 10, Apple’s iPhone 4S.

Want to see how they coped with meeting California asphalt in the three scenarios listed above? Watch this video to find out…

now doubt a heavily biased opinion. i look at this i work in the mobile industry. so far i see people with iphone 4s ditching them for galaxy s3. as this wipes the floor. no contest really. like comparing a mini to ferrari in speed comparison.

so no more silly stories. about the s3 being poor. its not.

I would agree with one part of your statement after all the S3 is a brand new phone where as the 4s was just an incremental bump which is now over 6 months old . As for seeing people dump the 4s for the S3 I haven't seen as many as was being reported and that could be due to factors such as being tied into a contract , or simply waiting to see how the S3 pans out in terms of faulty returns or waiting to see what apple's next model is like. I don't think the S3 is poor however like any phone if it's not the one for you no sale , yes very obvious but factual.

As for these tests , the iPhone has been dropped before and was slated for it's apparent lack of durability . The S3 will come under the same scrutiny as it's the " top phone" of the moment be it call quality , bugs with the software etc. It will be interesting to see how quickly Samsung handle repairs when you slip out of the 28 day exchange period that most retailers offer .

The one thing about apple is you do have a shop you can return your item should it prove faulty and we all know that can happen to anything.
