Philips has announced it will be bringing an extra dimension to its whopping Cinema 21:9 TV.
We saw a proof on concept model of the show floor at IFA last year, but now Philips says it'll be ready to hit shelves in late summer.
The company announced the news during its annual product launch in Barcelona, where it also unveiled the rest of its 3D range – the 9000 and 8000 series.
The 9000 series will be available in 32-, 40- and 46-inch screen sizes, while the 8000 series will pack 37-, 40-, 46- and 52-inch offerings.
Both sets will boast Philips' Ambilight system, Wifi, DLNA and access to Net TV, but the 9000 promises 400Hz refresh rate in place of the 8000's 200Hz.
The 9000, 8000 and Cinema 21:9 3D will use the active shutter 3D tech, but as is the case with all the manufacturers at the moment – we're still waiting on pricing.
We'll bring it to you as soon as we have it, but in the meantime be sure to check out our guide on 5 things you need to know about 3D technology.
