Pentax introduces the K-7 DSLR

Pentax has outed a successor to last year's K20 DSLR camera, in the form of the rather rugged, yet compact K-7.Aimed at those semi-pro photogs among y

Aimed at those semi-pro photogs among you, the K-7 is dust and weatherproof and comes packing a 14.6 megapixel sensor, the new PRIME II imaging engine, Live View and HD Movie Capture.

You'll also get handy features like shake reduction, face recognition, continuous shooting at 5.2 images per second, and sensitivity up to ISO 6400.

As for the video recording, you'll be able to capture your movies at 30fps in a range of sizes, and play them back on your HDTV thanks to the HDMI port on the cam.

Now for the biggie – the price. For the camera alone, the K-7 will set you back £1199.99, but add in the 18-55mm kit lens and you're looking at a rather pricey £1,229.99.

However if you've got a bit more cash to splash, the double kit lens bundle with the 18-55mm and 50-200mm will come with a £1329.99 price tag.

You'll be able to get your hands on the K-7 from July. Keep it locked to for a full review shortly, and be sure to check out what we thought of its predecessor, the K20D.
