Jaguar C-X75 electric supercar to be built

06 May 2011

First unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, the Jaguar C-X75 got us very excited even though it was just a concept. Now that Jaguar, in conjunction with the F1 Williams team has announced they are building the 800bhp quad-electric-engine eye-popper – we are light-headed. This picture of the 1,350kg bonded aluminum body helps to show why.

Sadly they won’t be including the original jet turbines but have made up for it by placing a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in the rear to supplement the four electric engines on each wheel. That equates to super power that even the greenest of folk can’t moan about. And with cars like the Peugeot EX1 setting new records at the Nurbergring, the future of electric cars is starting to look exciting.

Now, the nitty gritty. We can expect 0-62mph in 3 seconds with a 200mph top speed and a price tag between £700,00 and £900,000. You should have plenty of time to sell your house by then as it’s not expected for a couple of years. But make sure you’re ready as there will only be 250 made.

If I have the money to have this car on my garage I will definitely have one! I've never seen an innovative Jaguar car design like this before it's very futuristic and very modern in design. If it runs in electric the car would break records, for a two-seater car this a great vehicle. While the car is dubbed futuristic some components will stay the same like brembo brake pads and tires that would keep the car glued to the road.
