The Rock (1996)

The Rock, aka "Michael Bay's only palatable film" is full of set pieces, but the car chase between Sean Connery in a Hummer and Nic Cage in a yellow Ferrari is one of the most memorable. The pair destroy a good proportion of downtown San Francisco before the chase ends with one of the city's famous cable cars being thrown vertically into the air by an explosion. Unlikely, we concede – but what did you expect from Bay?
