Braindead (1992)
Long before Peter Jackson brought The Lord of the Rings from page to screen, he directed Braindead, a zombie comedy horror film which is regarded as one of the goriest films of all time. The final scene sees a man being stuffed in to the womb of his gargantuan zombie mother before cutting his way out. One to add to the 'do not watch while eating' list.

For respect - watch the the first 5-10 minutes of the remake.
You will see the reporters helicoper - in the same colours etc - fly in front of the camera before the car crash below where the car gets hit side on and sets the petrol station on fire.
A nice nod to George Romero - and apparently, no one wanted sprinting zombie in the remake but the producers
