Shaun of the Dead (2004)
The first – and best – film of Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (comprising Shaun, Hot Fuzz and the yet-to-be-produced The World’s End) pits store worker Shaun (Pegg) against the zombie horde as he attempts to rescue his girlfriend and his flatmate. This zom-rom-com's scares are thin on the ground, but laughs willingly take their place.

For respect - watch the the first 5-10 minutes of the remake.
You will see the reporters helicoper - in the same colours etc - fly in front of the camera before the car crash below where the car gets hit side on and sets the petrol station on fire.
A nice nod to George Romero - and apparently, no one wanted sprinting zombie in the remake but the producers
