Money for Nothing (Dire Straits, 1985) Groundbreaking and Dire Straits don’t usually belong in the same sentence, but the blocky CGI animation of Money for Nothing’s video was ahead of its time. And who didn’t want a glow-in-the-dark headband after watching it?
Erykah Badu has often been compared to jazz great Billie Holiday, though I would say her style is on the contemporary styles of the genres soul and hip hop and it sends out a deeper message as opposed to common R&B music. She’s signed on to quite a few record companies throughout her music career, and I would say, been pretty successful.

That "Smack My Bitch Up" video is still an edited version. After pulling the guy from the cubicle, she injects heroin in the uncut version.

That song will always remind me of a trip to Alton Towers in the Boys Club Landrover, soundtracked by a Top 40 tape recording with that on it.
