Parrot has announced the next generation of its smartphone-controlled quadricopter, the AR.Drone.
The new AR.Drone 2.0 looks set to blow the old one out of the air with new features like 720p HD video and an onboard barometer which gives more accurate stable altitude and allows it to fly higher than its predecessor.
The new 720p front-facing camera not only helps you fly it around, but also allows you to record your flight.
The AR.Drone 2.0 can be controlled over Wi-Fi using Parrot's AR.FreeFlight 2.0 app for Android and iOS phones and tablets. The new app also lets you save flight data, access other users' flight data and video and upload your own.
The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 available in the US from Q2 of this year for US$300, and we're eagerly awaiting news of a UK release.
