The game casts you as time-travelling roadie Eddie (played by actor Jack Black) who sets out on tour of destruction in a world that seems like a Manowar album cover brought to life.
Along the way you'll encounter cameos from metal gods such as Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy from Motörhead. Not to mention having the chance to drive a hot rod around a Dio-esque fantasy world with Mötley Crue's Kickstart My Heart blasting from the radio.
Brütal Legend's designer Tim Schafer says his tongue-in-cheek game is an ode to his long-held love of heavy metal. "I've always loved the music, ever since buying Diary of a Madman by Ozzy Osbourne," he says. "I loved the lyrics and the imagery - the crazy visuals of mediveal worlds, kinky clothes and satanic technology."
And with a Flying V guitar as your weapon, more than 100 metal classics and the ability to summon demons by playing blistering guitar solos (recorded especially for the game by Judas Priest no less), it's going to be the perfect game for fans of denim and leather when it arrives on 16 October on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
