Olympus PEN E-PL1 priced and dated for the UK

It may well have been leaked just two days ago, but Olympus is powering along with business as usual, announcing a UK price and date for its new E-PL1 PEN cam.

The third addition to the modern PEN Micro Four Thirds series lends itself to a more entry level of snapper, with a Live Guide to help you take some impressive looking snaps without all the technical know how.

The E-PL1 also drops back to the same 12.3 megapixels as the original E-P1, records HD movies and as a first for the series, has a built-in pop up flash so there’s no need for an extra accessory.

There will still be the accessory port though, so you can hook up the VF-2 electronic viewfinder or microphone adapter, and there are six Art Filters for giving your images a bit of creative flair.

The good news is the the E-PL1 is the cheapest of the PEN trio, coming in at £549.99 for a single lens kit or £699.99 for a double zoom lens kit, and it’ll be hitting the shelves next month in March.

Does the new E-PL1 take your fancy? Let us know below.
