Olympus launches sharp new E–30 DSLR

After Canon, Nikon and Sony spending most of the autumn firing out a string of super–specced DSLRs, Olympus has finally shown up to the party wi

Due to hit these shores in early 2009, the new snapper comes with a 12.3MP sensor, an 11 point autofocus system and ISO up to 3,200. That should be more than enough for budding paps to get their first tawdry shots for the weekly celeb rags.

It'll shoot up to five frames per second, so getting those shots of the kids tearing around the football pitch after school becomes a hell of a lot easier too. The Live View screen round the back will also cover 98 per cent of the shot, so if you're just an amateur with an urge for better looking pics, it's spot on.

Sadly Olympus is keeping shtum on a UK price, but US punters will be able to lay their hands on one for $1,299 from January.
