For once in the gadget world, the old maxim about 'seen one, seen them all' has a ring of truth about it.
This here is O2's Xda Mini S, and if you're a regular reader you'll already be thinking about its doppelgangers, the i-Mate K-JAM and the T-Mobile Vario. Yep, the Mini S is exactly the same device, but branded up in an O2 fashion and available on O2's seductive £3-per-meg data tariffs.
The other key difference - especially for our miserly pockets - is the price. On O2, the Mini S will set you back at least £260. By comparison, T-Mobile will give you one for free provided you sign a contract that signs away your second born.
The same features that we cooed over on the Mini's lookeylikeys are, naturally, all here too. The knockout one-two comes in the form of a QWERTY keyboard and Wi-Fi, making it a tasty little machine for writing emails, editing Word docs and posting on blogs.
The rest of the list includes the sort of useful stuff you'd expect: Win Mob 5.0 for the OS, a 1.3MP cam for snaps, Bluetooth 2.0 for hands-free happiness and a touchscreen so you can scribble illegible notes.
This wee smartphone beastie is on sale now at O2 shops across the kingdom. If you're after the network-free alternative, the K-JAM is on sale over at Expansys.
