We knew this was coming, but O2 has officially confirmed a deal with BT Openzone to open up their Wi–Fi hotspots for iPhone 3G owners.
This means gadget lovers rocking the new phone, and even the old EDGE model, will be able to access the web for free in 3,000 new places. Add to that The Cloud’s 6,000 free spots that are already available and you’re looking at 9,000 areas across the UK where you can get a proper web connection for nowt.
The new deal is set to kick off on 11 July, the day the new iPhone is set to fly off the shelves here in Blighty and across the globe.
Our opinion? This will make surfing even better than ever on Apple’s blower, and should limit how often you have to use battery sapping 3G.
